Heat butter in a small frying pan — pour in beaten egg, add herbs, and cook until set

Cheese omelette: Add 125 ml grated Chedder cheese.
Fruit omelette: Serve omelette with a filling of freshly chopped apple, strawberries, cherries or pineapple — dust with icing sugar before serving.
