Agneau

Agneau — a young sheep before the age of one year, which is called a spring lamb in the USA and lamb in England and South Africa, is in France known as agneau (AHN-yoh).

The French agneau de lait is milk-fed lamb, a yearling or a baby lamb which has never been weaned or put out to graze.
