A delicious, salty treat to serve as part of an antipasto tray or with drinks. If you can’t get anchovies, replace with 400g fresh OR frozen sardines.
Cook Time: 5 to 10 min | Serves: 8Ingredients
400 g fresh OR frozen anchovies
50 ml flour
1 egg
12.5 ml milk
125 ml dry breadcrumbs
oil for frying
coarse OR Kosher salt
Method
Dust anchovies with flour. Beat egg and milk. Dip anchovies in this mixture, then roll them in breadcrumbs. Deep-fry in hot oil, and drain on absorbent paper. Sprinkle with coarse salt and serve immediately.
